The Bee Story

“We do not steal honey from our bees, instead make sure they always have more than they need.”

The Bee Story-
Story Behind Our Honey

The story of Maksika begins with our bees. They visit hundreds and thousands of flowers, absorbing the precious nectar and storing it in their extra stomach.

The nectar mixes with the various enzymes in the stomach, partially digesting it. Once the bees are back from their foraging, they transfer this partially digested nectar to another bee who repeats the process till they reach the honeycomb where it is finally deposited.

Given that this form of honey isn’t conducive to long term storage due to the high moisture content, they fan the honeycomb with their wings to speed up the process to evaporate the extra moisture.

Once the liquid becomes thicker, the bee seals the comb with a secretion of liquid from its abdomen, which eventually hardens into beeswax.

Our experienced beekeepers then carefully harvest it to preserve all the nutrients that nature intended, providing the highest possible levels of live enzymes, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants as a functional whole food.

Only a part of the honey is harvested to ensure the bees have enough and more to sustain their requirements.

The unpasteurized honey is then bottled in jars which are works of art in themselves.

And that’s how you get a jar of Maksika Honey. That’s how you get bottled happiness.
